These photos show our 2012 fire tanker truck, which is housed at station 1 in downtown. Tanker 1 the second due apparatus to fires that don't have pressurized hydrants.
Firefighting Strength
A 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump provides strong water flow to fight fires.
A 2,000-gallon water tank allows crews to start working right away, even without a hydrant.
Foam equipment is on board to improve the effectiveness of water and extinguish fuel fires that water alone cannot control.
Portable water tank
The truck carries a 2,000-gallon tank that can be set up as a portable pond.
Water Supply Equipment
This truck carries specialized equipment for sucking water out of cisterns, ponds, rivers, and portable water tanks.
This truck carries specialized equipment for delivering water to multiple fire engines, filling other tankers, or supplying water over long distances.
Only 43% of the Town has pressurized hydrants, the remaining area of Town requires water to be transported to the scene. The tanker provides more water than an engine can carry and the ability to dump it quickly into a portable pond so it can go fill again.
