Barnard Park Pool

The Barnard Park pool will be closing for the 2025 summer season EOD Friday August 22.

Pool Guidelines


Lifeguard MUST BE obeyed at all times, failure to comply will result in expulsion from the facility.

Behavior 

  • No running anywhere in the pool area
  • No roughhousing in the pool or surrounding pool area.
  • No screaming or yelling. This can distract lifeguards from real emergencies.
  • Swimmers must swim in designated areas at the lifeguard’s discretion

Swim Attire

  • Only hygienic attire specifically designated for swimming will be allowed
  • T-shirts and cut-off shirts are NOT to be worn in pool water. Swim shirts are permitted.
  • Cloth or disposable diapers are NOT PERMITTED in the pools. Swim diapers are allowed.
  • Any swimwear that may lead to personal endangerment or entrapment will NOT be permitted.
  • Children requiring floatation assistance may wear a coast guard approved swimsuit/vest. If swimsuit or vest is not available, bubbles will be provided by lifeguard staff. A parent or guardian must be in the water –Shallow end only—with any child wearing this type of device AT ALL TIMES. The above listed floatation device must be properly fitting.

POOL STAFF WILL HAVE FINAL JUDGMENET IN ALL DECISIONS CONCERNING HELATH AND SAFETY ISSUES REGARDING SWIMWEAR.

Hours:

There is a 10-minute guard break on the 50-minute mark of every hour. During this time, swimmers under the age of 18 are to stay behind the marked yellow lines. Swimmers 18 and over, may swim at their own risk. 

Daily Sunday through Saturday

  • 1pm to 4pm: Free Swim
  • 4pm to 5pm: Family Only – Children who are accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • 5pm to 6pm: Adult only – 18 and Up
  • 6pm to 8pm: Family Only – Children who are accompanied by a parent or guardian
