Property Tax Information & FAQs

Real Estate Billing Process

The Town of Goffstown Tax Collector’s Office adheres to the rules and regulations set forth and governed by the State of NH. In compliance with the NH State Laws (RSA 76:2), the property tax year starts April 1 to March 31 of the following year.

Property taxes are billed semi-annually as per RSA 76:15-a.

The first tax bill is mailed at the end of May or early June and is due 30 days after. The estimated bill is based on 50% of the previous year's tax rate multiplied by the current assessed value as of April 1st of the current tax year. Interest accrues at 8% per annum after the due date, as outlined in RSA 76:13.

The second and final tax bill is mailed once the tax rate is set by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration, typically by mid-October or early November. This bill is due 30 days after mailing, with 8% annual interest accruing after the due date (RSA 76:13).

The tax rate is issued by the Department of Revenue Administration in late October or early November, prior to the second/final property tax bill.
